So Sorry about Rod Passing. My Wife and I met Rod when we moved to Whidbey Island and joined the Sailing club WINSA in 2002. We wanted to learn how to sail. Rod was right there to teach us how. We became good friends and went on to crew with Rod in local boat races and three round Whidbey races. Rod would let us use his boat when he could not be there. Rod had lots of storeies to tell about his loving family and he had a heart of gold and was not worried about a thing. When things got rough sailing and worrysome, His line was, Are We Having Fun Yet! He was Race competitive too. He always want to Beat that 27 foot Catalina of Michelle Slatko. He want to try the Spinaker and we fouled it up so bad, he said just throw it back in the boat. John and I took his boat out and perfected the the Spinaker. It was a very sensative to control. So we had some really good times. Rod was a Man with a big Heart. A great teacher. He will be missed. RIP
