Irene "Renee or Mama"  Wigham
Irene Wigham, age 84, longtime Oak Harbor resident, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was known by many as “Renee” or “Mama.”
Mrs. Wigham was born in Honolulu, HI, on July 16, 1934, to Joaquin and Katherine (Adolpho) Bee. She was raised in Honolulu. Later, she lived in California, Taiwan, Hawaii and Texas before settling in Oak Harbor in 1976. Irene had been employed as “Bagger # 2” at the NASWI Commissary. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her spaghetti. Irene generously shared her homemade dishes on numerous occasions with co-workers and friends. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Irene is survived by her children: sons Norman Brown (Barbara) of Honolulu, HI, Earle Wigham (Sandra) of Chandler, AZ and Michael Wigham of Oak Harbor; daughter Debra Wigham-Orosco (Kimo) of Chandler, AZ; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; also, numerous other relatives in Hawaii.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held at this time. If at a later date a service is arranged it will be posted on this site. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
