Obituary for George Thomas Leslie
George Thomas Leslie, age 83, of Oak Harbor, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, after a brief illness.
Mr. Leslie was born in Seattle on April 3, 1936, to James and Agnes (Osborne) Leslie. He attended Seattle schools and Ballard High School. Following high school George enlisted in the US Navy, serving twenty years before his retirement. On June 11, 1982, George married Linda Zeilstra. During George’s civilian years he was employed as a flight engineer for different companies, which took him and Linda to several locations throughout the United States. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #7392.
George loved to play golf and watch Seahawks football.
George is survived by his wife Linda, at home; his sons, Jim Leslie of Sedro Woolley, Joe Leslie (Dolors) of Seattle; and daughter Julie Danella (William) of Chesapeake, VA; step-daughters, Lori Howe (Roger) of Oak Harbor and Lisa Lacy (Robert) of Hazelgreen, AL and step-son Richard Bergdoll, Jr., of Oak Harbor; also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
In keeping with his request, no service will be held at this time. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association. Arrangements have been made with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service.
